Bringing Home Baby

I need opinions.

When I first got pregnant, I envisioned making the Yarn Harlot's Baby Mine or Baby Yours (see her blog here for pictures of both). The sweaters are so sweet and cry out to be put on a brand new baby for newborn pictures and coming home from the hospital.

But my baby is going to be a late May baby. And I have less than eight weeks to go and I haven't even watched for this sweater. Plus I made this:

The Gift Wrap Romper in the now sadly out-of-business Mission Falls 1824 Cotton.

A few Wednesdays ago, I was sick with that creeping crud that was going around, so I took to my bed with yarn and Downton Abbey. Despite the pain that knitting with cotton causes, I finished this in less than a week. I think it is so cute, but is it special enough for the Coming Home Outfit?

Tell me what you would do. In exchange, I'll pick a random commenter to win a skein of sock yarn from my stash.

Luv it!! If I were to be seen coming home from the hospital, this is exactly what I'd love to be wearing. Its beautiful and perfect for a newborn's homecoming picture.

I think it is supercute, especially for a spring baby. The Baby Mine and Baby Yours sweaters are gorgeous, but I think they're really more practical for a fall or winter baby.

Don't you just love Downton Abbey, by the way?

The stripes are just the sweetest - and they photograph so well! I say make life easy on yourself and go with it. Start a sweater now and you'll have it in time to take a photo of the wee one at week one in it!

The romper is great and totally worthy.
I'm assuming you meant swatch, but man wouldn't it be great if you were "watching for a sweater" and there were Layette Storks that would drop handknits from the sky? Or they would just swoop down from the sky, like the door from the tornado-free sky?

It's absolutely worthy. Know why? Cause YOU made it. Love it.

I don't think it gets any more special than handknit love. It is a perfect bringing home baby outfit. And every other day until he grows out of it outfit!

The jumper is great! Swatch for the sweater but in a larger size so HappyFaceHello can have something for the Fall or Winter.
