Your honest opinion, please

Yellow is not one of my colors, so I'm having a hard time seeing this project objectively. Is this working for you? The pattern is a narrow version the Lace Ribbon Scarf from the current issue of Knitty (sized down because the yarn was pooling really badly with the original number of repeats). The yarn is the Chewy Spaghetti Blue Plate Special for February 2008, seen in its original condition here:

The whole point of a club, at least for me, is to work with colors and fibers that you might not have chosen on your own. I'm already breaking my personal sock club rules by not knitting the pattern that came with the yarn. This yarn up close is stunning, a silk and wool blend with a beautiful sheen and a soft hand. I love it. But....yellow.

You said honest, right?

For me, no. But I'm not a yellow either, so someone else might love this. I think I'd probably like it better as socks for which I'm more likely to go against my usual color preferences. Socks are fun! Socks can be crazy! I've been looking at this scarf pattern a lot because I love it and I really want to make it, but I think for me, I'll do a solid.

I like yellow, in fact I am loving yellow lately. However I don't dig that colorway at all.

My comment was eaten. Ugh. Anyway. I like the colorway of the yarn. It's cheery and fun (I don't know if I'd WEAR it, but I like it). I don't think the pattern and the yarn pair well together. I agree with Michelle that I'd knit that pattern using a solid yarn.

It's not that I don't like yellow, Heck, my family room is very yellow! I think I just don't like that yellow in that colorway for that pattern. Got that? hahahaha.

i'd agree with melissa, that it would be better as a sock or something else that's wearable in zany colors, but i think it's pretty yarn (and you know that i hate yellow second only to orange).
